The short version
The EraRoll app does not collect any data. Your photos are made and developed on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking.
The app
- Camera. EraRoll uses the camera to take your photos. The image is processed on your iPhone only.
- Microphone. Only cameras that record sound, like a camcorder, ask for the microphone. The sound stays on your iPhone.
- Photos. EraRoll saves the photos you develop to your photo library. It does not read or upload your existing photos.
- Settings. Your choices, such as the camera you last used and how many frames are left on a roll, are stored on your iPhone.
- Purchases. If EraRoll offers purchases, they are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
You can change or withdraw camera, microphone and photo access at any time in Settings, EraRoll.
This website
- No cookies. This site does not set cookies and does not load advertising or social media trackers.
- Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not identify you. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages.
- Waitlist. The waitlist runs on LaunchList (getlaunchlist.com), not on this site. If you sign up there, LaunchList stores your email address for us so we can tell you when EraRoll launches. The waitlist page shows a leaderboard of sign-ups with part of each email address hidden, and how many people each one referred. LaunchList may use cookies on its own page; see its privacy policy. We keep your address until you ask us to delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us what we store about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
